Navigating the digital world has become an essential part of everyday life. From how we communicate and access news to how we apply for jobs and schedule appointments, digital skills are no longer optional. Just like we need to know how to move safely and respectfully in our physical environments, it’s critical that we have the tools to do the same online.

To support both learners and educators in building strong digital citizenship skills, we’ve created two apps to help both educators and students to thrive in a digital world: The Digital Citizenship Student Resources App and Digital Citizenship Educator Resources App.

The Digital Citizenship Student Resources App is designed to guide learners through key digital skills using the Bridges Digital Resiliency Framework, which includes three skill areas:

  • Foundational: Basic operations, device maintenance, and online safety

  • Productivity: Using tech to communicate, create, and collaborate

  • Independent Learning: Skills to navigate digital tools confidently and continue learning

Learners can mark off the standards they want to focus on and also save resources to their “Bookmarks”. All completed resources are saved in the Bookmarks page, making it easy to return and review. The content is student-friendly, mobile-accessible, and ready to use independently or with instructor guidance.

The Digital Citizenship Resources for Educators App includes the same Bridges-aligned skill structure and adds connections to ISTE, Northstar, and CCRS when applicable. This version is designed to help educators quickly locate, plan, and deliver lessons using trusted resources.

Educators can explore tools that address real-world digital challenges and support students’ growth as responsible, resilient digital citizens. In addition, we noted if the resource was also available in the student app or in other languages.

Both apps are free and available now. Explore the version that fits your role best, or use both to create alignment between instructional planning and student learning.
