Digital ATDN is hosting 2022's Summer Institute!


Welcome to the 2022-2023 School year!


I am excited to announce that the Summer Institute will be hosted by Digital ATDN this year!


The Summer Institute will be offered virtually and offer mini-sessions on different topics that will assist agencies at the beginning of the school year. Each mini-session will run for 45-minutes, made up of a 30-minute presentation and a 15-minute Q&A. All mini-sessions will be recorded and available at a later date for participants that attend the institute. Zoom links to the sessions will be emailed to the participants the day before the event.

  • 8:45 AM - 9:00 AM | Find What You Need When You Need It with Digital ATDN! Digital ATDN offers different services available for agencies to use throughout the school year. In this introduction, we have selected 3 free resources that you can use: Digital ATDN’s On-Demand Video App, Tech Support, and the Digital ATDN Newsletter. We will show you where you can access and utilize these resources! (All Staff)


  • 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM | Practice Reading, Listening, and Speaking Skills using the Marshall Leveled Reading Program! This application, from CrowdEd Learning, offers ESL teachers a quick and easy way to help students build skills inside and outside the classroom! Included in this application are short stories grouped by level or topic, read-alouds available at different speeds, a Quizlet to review vocabulary and a Google Form for tracking reading comprehension. Learn how to add this application to your phone, how to navigate the app, and find stories to explore. (ESL Teachers)


  • 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM | Navigate the Digital Skills Library using Google Forms as your Compass! This EdTech project includes a vast list of activities, lessons, and resources hand-picked by Adult Education professionals across the U.S. All resources listed are based on Digital Skills. In this mini-session, we will explore ONE way to navigate through the different resources to support your student's specific Digital Skills needs using the Seattle Digital Equity Initiative Digital Skills Framework. (Teachers and Student Support Staff)


  • 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM | Organize Resources using Wakelet. Wakelet is a free website that assists you in organizing notes, links, and resources into one location. This session offers a brief introduction to Wakelet skills used to organize resources from different websites in one place for easy access to staff or students. (All Staff)


  • 12:00 PM - 12:45 PM | Manage a Remote and In-Person Class Like a Pro! Teachers used to have everything they needed from within the classroom. Today, we move into a digital world where most of what we use in the classroom is online, including our students. In this session, we will explore strategies and tricks on how to manage and work with both in-person and remote students. (Teachers)
