Goal: Introduce the digital navigator model and provide training, strategies, & resources to develop the necessary components for becoming an efficient digital navigator within the agency. ​

Digital Navigator Meetings

Each meeting aims to provide support, guidance, and resources to help digital navigators effectively integrate digital literacy and technology into educational programs. Each session will allocate time to address individual needs and facilitate discussions among digital navigators. Below are the overarching topics for each meeting.

11/25/24 | Building the Adult Learner Profile | Register​

Goal: Share how to access data from assessments available through Northstar, data collected in LACES and other related data to help shape the digital needs for adult learners.

1/27/25 | Internet Safety and Security | Register

Goal: Introduce the Digital Citizenship Guide, conduct self-assessments, and demonstrate how to access aligned resources, such as the Social Media Test Drive website, which provides simulations for practicing safe online behaviors.

2/24/25 | Email and Communication Tools | Register

Goal: Share effective practices from the "Unlocking Engagement: Best Practices for Virtual Student Communication". 

 

4/28/25 | Digital Tools for Daily Life | Register

Goal: Share resources and services available to learners, including community groups and free programs offered through libraries or other organizations, to help them take advantage of various free/low-cost opportunities.

5/27/25 | Workforce and College Preparation | Register

Goal: Provide resources and guidance that develop digital skills required in workforce development and college preparation.

11/15/24 | Implementing Northstar at Your Agency | Register

​​This training will guide you through the process of setting up Northstar in your agency, from understanding the distinction between proctored and unproctored assessments to selecting resources that scaffold digital literacy learning before, during, and after using Northstar. Start strong on the digital literacy front by creating a solid foundation for your learners with the Northstar platform!

1/13/24 | Utilizing Northstar for Digital Literacy: Exporting and Analyzing Reports with Google Sheets or Excel | Register

Northstar allows you to monitor learners' progress and efforts through assessments and learning pathways within the modules. How can you help learners overcome challenges in mastering digital literacy? How can you align their goals to ensure success in their digital literacy journey? This training will focus on effectively extracting and analyzing data to identify potential pitfalls and barriers to growth, providing you with the data to better support your students' digital skill development.
